DIRECTIONS:
Wood Floor Finish Bonder
TimberBond, when applied to a properly cleaned floor, chemically prepares the surface for finish coating and ensures proper adhesion. This system should NOT be used on paste wax or oil finishes or if the existing finish is worn to the point where bare wood is exposed. A test patch is always recommended. Complete the four TimberBond finishing steps in a small, inconspicuous area to be sure the TimberBond system will work successfully. Inspect the floor for any deep scratches or gouges that need repair prior to using the TimberBond system. These repairs must be made prior to TimberBond application.
Step 1: TimberClean Deep Scrub
Remove all dirt, chewing gum, and other debris from the floor. Vacuum the floor. Pay special attention to the corners of the floor to be treated. Dilute Deep Scrub using a ratio of 14 parts water to 1 part Deep Scrub. Scrub the floor with a compact automatic scrubber with a red cleaning pad. Do not allow the solution to puddle. Repeat the procedure on the entire floor to be coated.
For stubborn surface marks, dirt and shoe marks, use a surface prep pad or sponge moistened with Deep Scrub.
Drain the automatic scrubber and refill with clean water. Scrub the entire floor again, with clean water and a clean pad.
Mop Cleaning: Tack the floor with clean towels dampened with Deep Scrub. Rinse the floor by damp mopping with clean water and a clean mop until the rinse water is clean or use tack towels with clean water.
Step 2: TimberClean
Dilute TimberClean using a ratio of 14 parts water to 1 part TimberClean. Scrub the floor using a compact automatic scrubber and diluted TimberClean. No clean water rinse is needed after this step. Allow the floor to dry completely before applying TimberBond.
Step 3: TimberBond
Shake TimberBond gently before use. Apply a small amount of TimberBond to the floor or onto the mop and spread it out to a thin, uniform layer using a microfiber mop. For large floors, apply TimberBond using a pump-up sprayer. Spray a line of TimberBond onto the floor and spread it with the microfiber mop. Spray only as far as can be spread in a short amount of time. Work around the floor until all areas have been coated. Pay special attention to edges, corners, and turns. Any missed spots may result in poor adhesion to the topcoat. The floor should have a wet appearance, but there should be no puddles. Apply TimberBond at a minimum of 2,500 sq. ft. per gallon. Allow to dry for 1 hour with good ventilation and air movement across the floor. If there are areas where the TimberBond has puddles and has not dried, wipe the area with a clean, water dampened rag. Do not exceed 6 hours before applying the topcoat or TimberBond may lose effectiveness. If the 6-hour window has passed, tack the floor with TimberClean to remove any airborne dust, then reapply the TimberBond.
Step 4: Top Coat Application
Apply TimberGuard finish according to label instructions. Refer to TimberGuard Product Data Sheets for more information regarding application techniques prior to using this system.
Read all directions and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) before using.
