***UPDATE EPA APPROVES TACTICAL STRIKE DISINFECTANT COVID-19 KILL CLAIMS ON LABEL***
We’re getting a ton of questions about this right now, so I’m going to keep this post short and to the point.
There are currently no disinfectants that are allowed to legally make kill claims against SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes the disease COVID-19, because it is so new, none of them have undergone the required testing to be EPA approved for that use.
That being said – the EPA has a list up of many disinfectants and their active ingredients that it recommends for us against coronavirus.
Some of the products we carry at Worldwide Janitor, like Lysol Clean & Fresh, are actually named on this list. While others, like Pine 10, Lemon 10 and more, use Quaternary Ammonium bases as their active ingredient, which is a common active ingredient listed on many of the EPA’s recommended products. In fact, many disinfectants use some form of Quaternary ammonium that has been shown to kill similar viruses in the past (like HIV, SARS, FLU, etc). The EPA list is a good reference though because it lists those specifically that make kill claims against past Coronaviruses.
So while we can’t answer this question perfectly, we can guide you in the direction to follow some suggestions that the EPA recommends.
We are looking for a disinfectant to use on fire gear is this safe to use ?
None of our disinfectants are labeled for use on fire proof materials. That being said, I’m not sure there is such a product. You may need to do some testing to see if any of them work. Make sure to follow label instructions for dilution and dwell time before rinsing.
I am looking for a disinfectant spray similar to Lysol that kills 99.9% of bacteria, do you have anything like this available?
Yes, any of the aerosols listed here:

I see the product in the gallon containers. I thought that I would see an aerosol spray can.
Hi, we should be getting more aerosols in this coming week.
Can S-L-X Denatured Alcohol be used to make a hand sanitizer when mixed with Aloe Vera gel, something similar to “Purell” hand sanitizer? What is the alcohol content, or is it at least 90% or more?
Thank you for your response.
Hi,
I’m not able to answer that question, sorry!
when will you have aerosol disinfectant spray
Great forum for Q/A. Appreciate the time you take to answer these questions. Understanding that cleaning products may remove color out of cloth type surfaces,…. What product would you recommend to apply on non-porous surfaces like a hotel drapery or industrial rug. We’re looking to mist and wipe down these surfaces after sprayed. Just can’t seem to find any readily available products to do the job. What do you have in stock. Thank you.
can 70% denatured alcohol be used as a general cleaner
